Then put your newfound skills to use as you learn to pull the perfect pint. The journey ends at the Gravity Bar with spectacular views of Dublin's fair city. Tonight enjoy a welcome drink with your traveling companions at your city center hotel.
This morning join your local guide for a walking tour of Dublin. See the former armory of the Bank of Ireland and the courtyard of the old Parliament House. Visit the former House of Lords, then enter the hallowed gateway of Trinity College, passing through its elegant 18th and 19th century courtyards and greens. Hear some of its fascinating history, as well as an occasional tall tale associated with the university. Leaving the campus, stroll through the halls of the National Gallery of Ireland and into a district of splendid Georgian squares, long terraces, tranquil parks and government institutions. Beautiful Merrion Square Park will reveal many surprises, not least the remarkable statue to Oscar Wilde. Relax over lunch in the atmospheric cellars of the Duke of Wellington's birthplace. The balance of the day is at leisure. (Breakfast and Lunch included)
Your first stop this morning is at Jim Tynan's Kitchen and Foodhall. Enjoy morning tea and homemade scones in this award-winning, family-owned gem. Travel on to the historic Cashel. The town's rich history is reflected in its prehistoric raths, medieval monasteries, fortified townhouses, a Georgian Cathedral and a 21st century library. The Georgian quarter also boasts the Bolton Library, where you can find the smallest book in Ireland. There is some free time to explore the town and visit the iconic Rock of Cashel. Then continue to Cork. After dinner, a local historian will share adventurous tales of the sea and Cork's history, ever entwined with great ships and majestic liners. You will also hear about Cobh, the last port of call for the ill-fated Titanic.(Breakfast and Dinner included)
This morning visit Cork City and the English Market, one of the oldest of its kind, trading as a market since 1788. In the old days, stalls sold local foodstuffs, and most of the shoppers haggled with the stall owners in hopes of even better deals. Give it a try if you feel up to the challenge! Nibble on a specialty cake and morning coffee, then admire the breathtaking vistas as you journey to Glengarriff. Here you will board a boat and cruise out to Garnish Island. Also known as Ilnacullin, this small island was transformed into an exotic garden in 1910. Framed by views of Bantry Bay, the gardens are landscaped with neo-classical follies and planted with rich, subtropical flora. There is also the chance to see cavorting seals in Bantry Bay. Continue on to the lively town of Killarney. (Breakfast included)
Travel the road that winds around the beautiful Iveragh Peninsula, better known as the Ring of Kerry. It is undoubtedly one of the most magical places in all of Ireland. Here mountains, valleys, lakes and sea blend into a landscape that is often breathtaking beyond words. Stopping at Torc Waterfall for photos, there is a chance to join a leisurely hike with a qualified guide. You will walk along the lakeshore and past the farmlands of the Muckross Estate, admiring the spectacular scenery. For those who do not want to join the hike, the motorcoach will return you to Killarney, where the balance of the day is free. (Breakfast included) NOTE: The walk travels over wooded paths and lakeshore trails. While there are no mountains to climb, walkers need to be fit, have good walking shoes, sunscreen and raingear.
Your day is at leisure, and your guide will have plenty of suggestions to help you plan your time. Perhaps join an optional excursion, including a guided horseback ride through Killarney's National Park, a jaunting car ride to Muckross House or a cruise on the lakes. In the evening, head out to Kenmare for a casual Irish cooking class with one of the area's great local chefs. Afterward, sample your culinary skills at dinner. (Breakfast and Dinner included)
Leaving Killarney, make a stop in Adare, Ireland's prettiest village. Continue your journey across the rolling countryside. Back in Dublin, there is time for some last-minute shopping. Later, get together for a farewell dinner in one of Dublin's trendiest restaurants. (Breakfast and Dinner included)
Transfer to Dublin Airport for your flight home.
