Once in your possession, Brand g Vacations will not be responsible for damages and/or losses, or missed portions of your trip related to improper or absent travel documentation. If this applies to you, please contact us and we will obtain the additional entry visa on your behalf. The service and corresponding charge will be added to your reservation.

Getting There

AIRPORT SECURITY AND CHECK-IN

Please be sure to check your flight prior to departure and verify there have been no changes to the flight number or schedule. If you have an airport transfer confirmed with Brand g Vacations, please advise of any schedule change affecting your airport pick up time.

Familiarize yourself with current airport security procedures and arrive at the airport at least two and a half (2.5) hours prior to your scheduled departure. During peak travel times, you may want to arrive three (3) hours prior to your scheduled departure time.

CUSTOMS

Entry documents will be required at all border crossings, so please carry proper identification with you all times, and never place it in checked luggage. Please fill in all immigration forms when asked and be aware of local regulations and restrictions to entry.

Most items you purchase internationally can be brought back into the US and Canada. We do recommend, however, that you check with both your home country’s customs office for current restrictions, as well as with the embassies of the countries you are visiting for any restrictions on items that may be unlawful to take outside their borders.

When you return to your home country, you should be prepared to declare everything you purchased or acquired while traveling. Many countries will ask you to complete a customs form, which will require descriptions and values of the items. These forms are easier to complete if you keep your sales receipts easily accessible. Most countries have set customs duty exemptions for both quantity and value of certain items. We suggest that you familiarize yourself with these allowances and limits prior to your travel.

CHECK-IN/HOTEL CHECK-OUT

Please be advised that the most hotels do not allow check-in earlier than 3:00pm. If you arrive at the hotel before 3:00pm, there may be a wait until the room becomes available. Check-out is at the host hotel properties is 12:00pm though exceptions may apply.  If your arrival or departure schedule does not coincide with these times, you may ask the hotel(s) to store your baggage while you explore independently. Please note that every effort is made to ensure that your hotel room is available and ready for occupancy upon your arrival, however a short wait for your room to become available may be unavoidable. Depending on your arrival or departure times, you may wish to purchase an early check-in, late check-out, or additional hotel nights’ in order to guarantee availability of your room. Feel free to contact Brand g Vacations or your travel agent to book additional services.

TRAVEL DELAYS

If you experience a travel delay while still in your home country, after working with your air carrier to revise your flight schedule, please contact Brand g at 952-405-9309 to advise us of your revised arrival date and time. If the line is busy or you are calling outside of general business hours, please leave a message.

If you have already departed your home country, please contact our local staff at the numbers provided in the Contact Information section lower on this page.

If you purchased travel insurance that covers flight delay and cancellation expenses, you will also want to contact your travel insurance company to start a claim for expenses incurred during your delay. If the delay is serious enough that you will miss the starting point of your cruise, any additional hotel, and/or flight arrangements necessary to meet your group will be at your expense.

BAGGAGE DELAYS

Baggage delays unfortunately occur from time to time, especially during peak travel periods. If you discover any bag did not make it to your destination, do not leave the airport baggage area without completing a Lost Baggage Report with your air carrier. This report is essential to the tracking of your claim. Give the air carrier a copy of your travel itinerary, along with the hotel and ship contact information. Report your lost baggage to your Brand g host and provide them with a copy of your Lost Baggage Report. Brand g is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged baggage and/or personal belongings. Selecting a travel insurance plan that will cover lost or stolen luggage and/or personal items is highly recommended.

PROGRAM STAFF

A Brand g Vacations Tour Leader will be with you during your travel program to handle all the details, leaving you to relax and enjoy your vacation.

BEING LGBT+ IN EGYPT

Egyptian law does not criminalize same-sex sexual activity, but LGBT+ persons and advocacy groups have reported harassment, intimidation, arrests, and other forms of abuse, including by police. There are also reports that authorities have used social media, dating websites, and cell phone apps to entrap persons suspected of being gay or transgender in an act of “debauchery,” which is a criminal offense that carries sentences of up to 10 years. We would like to stress that while this is extremely rare, especially with foreign tourists, we do advise you to use caution with dating apps in Egypt. Keeping safe boils down to a mix of “listening to your gut”, being discreet (not using face pictures, using your best judgment when sending others photos, disabling location services on Grindr or other apps, only meeting up with someone who has an Instagram linked to their account or something else verifiable, trying to meet people out in public rather than on an app, etc.), and avoiding using dating apps entirely if the feeling of overwhelm, worry, and potential danger (however minimal) negate the benefit of meeting up with someone you meet online.

CONTACTING HOME

The ability to stay in touch with friends and family is an important part of travel, and many guests choose to bring cell phones on the trip. International roaming charges can be expensive, and it is advisable to contact your domestic carrier to determine the charges and plans available for each country you are visiting, then select the best available plan for your expected usage. In some countries, SIM cards are available for purchase that can be used in an unlocked phone (call your carrier to determine if your phone is, or can be, unlocked), providing a local number that can be used both locally and internationally, usually at a significantly lower rate.

Making international calls from hotels is possible, but costly. Connection fees are usually applied, in addition to other call charges. Please refer to the hotel information in your room or call reception for up to date prices.

INTERNET ACCESS

Wi-Fi is available and included at the program hotels and onboard Amalilia.

CURRENCY AND MONEY MATTERS

The official currency of Egypt is the *Egyptian Pound and in Jordan, the Jordanian Dinar. Although credit and debit cards are welcome, some shops and restaurants still do not take cards. Egypt and Jordan remain largely cash-based societies especially outside big cities, so please ensure to carry enough cash for daily use. It is especially important to have cash for smaller purchases like snacks, beverages, or small gifts. Please contact your bank and/or credit card companies to let them know that you will be leaving the country to avoid any problems using your credit card(s) and ATM cards overseas.

*Most vendors will happily accept US Dollars.

GRATUITIES

Optional Gratuities for the included components of this program have been pre-paid. You are welcome to provide additional tips at your discretion.

SMOKING

Smoking is allowed only in designated areas at each hotel. The hotel has open areas where smoking is allowed and may offer smoking rooms as well as areas in specific sections of some indoor lounges. If you would like a smoking room where available, please let Brand g know in advance. If you are assigned a smoking room at any hotel by accident, please ask the front desk to assign a non-smoking room. If you need any assistance in this matter contact your local guide or Brand g host. Guests are asked to refrain from smoking while on excursions.

ELECTRICAL CURRENT

The voltage in Egypt  is  220v and the frequent is 50Hz. The power plugs  pictures (type C or F). Most North American electrical appliances will work in Egypt without an adapter and vice versa; however, certain appliances, especially those involving heating (e.g. hair dryers), may not work properly or even get damaged. If you intend to purchase electronic appliances in Egypt for use outside of Egypt, you are advised to look for equipment specifically made for oversea tourists.

The voltage in Jordan is 230v and the frequency is also 50Hz and power plugs  type C or F are widely used in addition to Type D, G and J.

EXCURSIONS

Your tour program includes comprehensive shore excursions led by a local English-speaking guide; these excursions have been designed to provide you with the best possible experience. Your Brand g host will provide details on each day’s excursion(s) and timing. Should guests be concerned about any aspect of an excursion, please inform your local guide or Brand g Vacations host.

ETIQUETTE

Your itinerary takes you into some areas where locals are simply living their daily lives. Should you wish to take a photo of locals, please request their permission first (simply pointing to your camera and allowing them to nod is sufficient). If you plan to bring a cell phone or tablet on excursions, please ensure it is set to “silent.” Guides will alert you when photos and/or flash photos are not allowed.

FACILITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

Many of the places we visit on this itinerary are not handicapped accessible. Many excursions involve walking over uneven ground and some excursions are walking tours only. For your safety and enjoyment, we recommend that all guests be in good physical condition.

At its sole discretion, Brand g Vacations reserves the right to refuse passage, or to require a passenger to end his or her trip if the passenger’s state of health or physical condition may affect his or her own health, safety, and enjoyment, or that of other passengers.

SECURITY

In the countries in which we operate, pickpockets are not uncommon, and caution is encouraged. In hotels please lock your doors and use the provided safes. Brand g cannot be held liable for loss of money, jewelry, or other valuable items. A travel insurance policy will typically cover most incidents of loss or theft.

WATER

Please do not drink the tap water while on board or on shore or use it for brushing your teeth. Every hotel has bottled water available. Pay close attention to pricing as some water is complimentary and some is at an extra charge. On every excursion, complimentary bottled water will be available. The ship’s water supply comes from the river after passing through a sterilization process. This water is suitable for showers and baths but should not be consumed.

WEATHER

Weather forecasts are widely available on the Internet, and some of the favorites for large, international cities are www.weather.com  and www.cnn.com/weather

Average temperatures:

Cairo: 61 / 84 °F

         Luxor/Aswan: 62 / 94 °F

Jordan: 52 / 72 °F

WHAT TO BRING

Travel Essentials: The following items are essential for any destination: sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellant, hat, raincoat, and umbrella. It is recommended that you bring; Electrical convertor and adaptors, duplicates of prescription eyewear, copies of prescriptions for any medications (generic equivalents are usually easier to obtain), copies of credit card information, and copies of your passport information pages and visas.

Packing List:

Comfort and convenience are key when you pack for your Egypt and Nile River cruise. Your main suitcase should not exceed 23kg/50lbs, otherwise excess weight charges will apply and are payable directly to the airline at check-in.

  • Lightweight clothes. Packing light for your Nile River cruise will be no problem as a majority of what you pack into your suitcase will be lightweight clothing items. Breathable clothes will be your answer to most of your outfits. We suggest cotton or linen tee shirts as well as short and long sleeves.
  • Breathable trousers or pants. In Egypt, men typically wear trousers or pants despite the hot weather.
  • Pack a pair of lightweight trousers or convertible pants that can transform into shorts.
  • Sturdy and versatile sandals or walking shoes are ideal to withstand any terrain when visiting temples. Sandals can provide extra comfort as well as breathing room for your toes.
  • The ultimate daypack or fanny pack can hold all your daily essentials throughout your excursions including your water, pocket-sized bug spray, tissues/wet wipes, sunscreen, a hat, and any medications you may need to travel with.
  • SPF products. Strong sunscreen (40 SPF or higher). Try to include SPF into as many items that you use in your daily routine for skin care. It is usually sunny, so protect your skin with lip balm, moisturizer, or other beauty products with sun protection.
  • Polarized sunglasses or a hat with wide brim for further sun protection as you enjoy your excursions.
  • Cooling scarves and bandanas can be helpful as extra protection for your neck or head from the sun.
  • Lightweight jacket or sweater for those cooler times at the end of the day.
  • On board the river cruise, many guests prefer to wear button up shirts and nicer pants to dinners.
  • Camera equipment and extra batteries, memory cards, chargers/accessories
  • Converter and electrical adapter
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, comb or hairbrush, razor, insect repellent, feminine products, and cosmetics
  • Prescription medications in original containers (to be packed in carry-on bag, not checked luggage)
  • Face masks
  • Hand sanitizer, tissues, and anti-bacterial/disinfectant wipes
  • Small first aid kit with aspirin, antibacterial cream, etc.
  • Money belt or other secure place to keep passport and cash

Next, enjoy a lovely lunch at the famous Mena House, a historic palatial hotel, based in the shadow of the great Pyramids of Giza. Afterwards, you’ll explore the Great Sphinx and the iconic Giza complex, which consists of three large pyramids built between 2,589BC and 2,504 BC. Enjoy the evening at your leisure. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 4 – Thurs 4/2/26

After checking out of the hotel, visit Coptic Cairo, a neighborhood know for its historic churches and monasteries including the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue. Then take an early afternoon flight south to Luxor — formerly known as Thebes, the capital city of the New Kingdom of Upper Egypt. Luxor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to two astonishing temples — Karnak and Luxor. Be welcomed aboard your luxurious river cruise ship to begin your Nile River Valley cruise. Relax and settle in and before dinner, meet your crew and celebrate with a Captain’s Welcome Cocktail. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5 – Fri 4/3/26

Visit the tombs of ancient Egypt in the Valley of the Kings — one of the most famous archeological sites in the world. The spectacular rock-cut tombs located on the west bank of Luxor include that of the enigmatic King Tutankhamun, whose mummified remains are still here on display. Afterwards, go to Deir el-Bahri to see the Temple of Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most successful pharaohs and the country’s first female ruler. Your day’s adventure concludes with an up-close view of the Colossi of Memnon — two gigantic statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Once back on board your ship, relax on the Upper Deck and take in the amazing scenery or join the chef at an informal cooking class. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6 – Sat 4/4/26

The city of Edfu is best known for one of Egypt’s most remarkably preserved temples, dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god. Built in 230 BC, it is the second-largest temple in Egypt and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with walls that display compelling details about the religion and language of the country’s Greco-Roman period. After visiting Edfu, relax on board and take in the Nile River’s timeless landscapes as the ship continues onward to Aswan. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 7 – Sun 4/5/26

Board a motorboat and cruise to the UNESCO-designated Philae Temple complex, boasting some of the most stunningly restored and preserved hieroglyphs in Egypt. It was constructed between 380 BC and 362 BC and dedicated to the goddess Isis, the wife of Osiris and mother of Horus. Next, head to a colorful Nubian village on Hisa Island. Meet the warm and friendly Nubian people who will welcome you to their village. Afterwards, take a peaceful ride in a felucca, a traditional Egyptian sailboat, around beautiful Elephantine Island, which locals say is the home to legendary Egyptian god Khnumo. Cap the day off with an optional (additional cost) late afternoon tea at the historic Old Cataract Hotel, a 19th-century Victorian Palace crafted in rose granite. Delight in an authentic “high tea” experience and revel in the stunning views overlooking the Nile and Elephantine Island. In the evening, join your crew outside in a celebration of local customs with the chance to don a Galabeya, traditional Egyptian attire, and toast to the rich culture and history of the Nile River Valley. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 8 – Mon 4/6/26

Enjoy free time in Aswan or go on an optional excursion to Abu Simbel (must be prebooked). If you purchased the optional excursion, enjoy an early morning flight over Lake Nasser to the more than 3,000-year-old Abu Simbel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to Ramses II, one of the most active of pharaohs, along with the smaller temple dedicated to his chief wife Queen Nefertari. The front of the main temple has four gargantuan statues of Ramses II on his throne, each measuring nearly 70 feet high and discovered half buried in sand in 1813. During the afternoon, cruise to the Great Temple of Kom Ombo, where its soaring columns dramatically rise above the Nile River. Unique in Egypt, this temple is dedicated to two gods — the crocodile god, Sobek, sitting on the right; and the falcon-headed Haroeris, “The Good Doctor.” After visiting Kom Ombo, relax on board and take in the Nile River’s timeless landscapes as the ship continues onward to Luxor. After dinner tonight, continue to experience Egyptian magic with a traditional folkloric-style belly dance on board your ship. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 9 – Tues 4/7/26

Spend a morning of scenic cruising along the glistening Nile River. Relax on the Sun Deck as you cruise from Esna back to Luxor. First, explore the Temple of Karnak, the largest religious complex in Egypt and one of the largest in the world, covering about 200 acres in a vast network of columns, hieroglyphics, obelisks, sphinxes and colossi — even a lake is on the grounds. The Hypostyle Hall is a great architectural marvel and filled with its roof blocks, supported by colossal 134 columns standing at 70 feet high, with 12 larger columns standing at 80 feet high lining the central aisle. This hall is still the largest room of any religious building in the world. After visiting the temple, journey to a museum and discover the art of papyrus making. Learn how the ancient Egyptians used this special plant that flourished in the Egyptian Delta and Nile River Valley. Made from the aquatic papyrus plant, also known as paper plant, this unique writing material served many purposes in ancient times from sails, cloth, food and especially paper for important documents and texts. Afterwards, you will visit the Temple of Luxor, constructed over hundreds of years by Amenhotep III, Ramses II, Tutankhamun and other pharaohs. You then have the option of heading back to the ship to relax or visiting the colorful Luxor Market, where you can find eye-catching piles of spices, jewelry and clothing as well as irresistible smells of incense and perfumes. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 10 –Wed 4/8/26

Set sail to Qena to explore its ancient Egyptian heritage. You’ll go to Dendara to visit the best- preserved temple in Egypt, the Temple of Hathor – the Goddess of Love, to whom the powers of joy, feminine love and motherhood were attributed. The temple was built by Ptolemy and a group of Romans who worshipped her; so don’t miss the back of the temple where there is a relief depicting Cleopatra with Caesarion, her son by Julius Caesar, the Roman Emperor who brought us the months of July and August. Following your visit here, sail back to Luxor. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 11 – Thurs 4/9/26

Disembark the ship in Luxor and fly back to Cairo, where you will be taken to the Abdeen Presidential Palace, considered one of the most luxurious palaces in the world. The palace consists of multiple museums, including the Silver Museum; the Arms Museum; the Royal Family Museum; a Presidential Gifts Museum and a Historical Documents Museum, which is a relatively new addition. It is also one of the official residences and places of work for the President of Egypt. After our tour, we’ll enjoy a farewell lunch inside the palace. For those continuing on to Jordan with us, we’ll tour before heading to the airport for our flight to Amman. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 12 – Fri 4/10/26

Today you will be transferred from the hotel to the Cairo airport for your international flight home, or onward to the Jordan post-trip extension. (Breakfast)

IF YOU HAVE THE JORDAN ADD-ON TRIP, THE FOLLOW ITINERARY ALSO APPLIES:

Day 12 – Fri 4/10/26

After breakfast, enjoy a tour of the old city of Amman exploring the Citadel and the Roman Theater, two of the most popular archaeological sites in the city. We will continue overland to Jerash, the Graeco-Roman city [ancient Gerasa], and close second to Petra on the list of favorite destinations in Jordan. Boasting an unbroken chain of human occupation dating back more than 6,500 years and hidden for centuries in sand before being excavated and restored over the past 70 years, Jerash is a fine example of the grand, formal and provincial Roman towns found throughout the Middle East. One can walk beneath four imposing gates or down the “Street of Columns” north from the “Oval Plaza” while stepping over the tracks of chariot wheels still visible in the paving stones then drive to Amman for overnight. Tonight, enjoy dinner on your own. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Accommodation: 5* Amman St Regis Hotel

Day 13 – Sat 4/11/26

After breakfast, we drive to Wadi Rum, a striking desert-scape also known as the “Valley of the Moon.” Traverse the desert by 4×4 in the place where Prince Faisal Bin Hussein and T.E. Lawrence based their headquarters during the Arab Revolt against the Ottomans in World War I – their exploits are intrinsically woven into the history of this amazing area. See the Seven Pillars of Wisdom along with many other interesting sites. From here, we continue to Petra and check in to the Movenpick Hotel. Tonight, we enjoy dinner together at the hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Accommodation: Movenpick Resort Hotel Petra

Day 14 – Sun 4/12/26

After a nourishing breakfast at the hotel, we spend a full day exploring the “Rose-Red City” of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site sculpted from a mountain range by the Nabataeans in the third century BC. Visit the Temple of Winged Lions, the Corinthian Tomb and the Palace Tomb. Other major sites include the Treasury, the baths, markets and storerooms. You’ll have time for lunch before some time to continue exploring this magnificent site at your leisure. Perhaps take a hike to the Monastery, which boasts incredible views of the rose- red canyons below. Later, return to the Movenpick for some time to refresh before another festive included dinner. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
