Some of you have already had the pleasure of traveling with James Compton, our new Director of Programming and Entertainment. He’s a fantastic addition to the Brand g family!
Sadly, since he co-hosts the Brand g podcast with me, Eric Poole (Brand g’s Director of Marketing), and he knows what I’m like, he was fully prepared for my attempts to embarrass him with inapproprioate questions in this interview.

Where did you grow up, and couldn’t you have picked somewhere better?
EVANSVILLE, INDIANA. IT’S PART OF THE “TOE” OF THE INDIANA STOCKING.
When did you know you were gay? Please provide graphic details.

How many boyfriends have you had, and do you have compromising photos?
I PREFER TO DATE WOMEN. WELL, REALLY JUST HAVE DINNER WITH THEM. AND THEN IT’S HOME TO MOTHER. AS FOR BOYFRIENDS???… I DON’T TOUCH THE STUFF. IT’S REALLY BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH!
What’s so great about living in Indiana?
Scratch that question.

You are adorable and charming as hell (I say begrudgingly). How is it you are currently unwed, like some stripper with daddy issues?
NOTHING GETS BETWEEN ME AND MY LOVE OF HATS… THAT’S REALLY THE ONLY REASON I CAN THINK OF.
How did you come to Brand g, and how was I (Eric) the motivating factor in that decision?
THROUGH DEAR FRIENDS RANDY JUDEN AND JEREMY BROOKS…. AND A CLEAR LAPSE IN THEIR JUDGEMENT. I WORKED WITH THEM WHEN I WAS THE PRODUCER FOR RSVP VACATIONS… THEY KNEW BRAND g WAS EXPANDING AND SCOOPED ME INTO THE FOLD.

Where did you work before Brand g?
PRIOR TO BEING THE PRODUCER FOR RSVP VACATIONS, ATLANTIS EVENTS, AND VACAYA, I TRAINED IN THE PERFORMING ARTS, WORKED FOR ARTS NON-PROFITS, AND WAS A FOUNDER & EDUCATION DIRECTOR FOR A PERFORMING ARTS TRAINING PROGRAM FOR TEENS AND TWEENS.
What are your duties at Brand g, besides making me (Eric) happy?
ENTERTAINMENT AND PROGRAMMING. I LEAD THE CHARGE FOR CURATING AND HIRING THE ENTERTAINMENT AS WELL AS FOR PLANNING THE GUEST EXPERIENCE ON CRUISES.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
I LOVE INTRODUCING GUESTS/AUDIENCES TO ENTERTAINERS NEW TO BRAND g, AND FINDING WAYS TO RETHINK HOW WE PROGRAM OUR SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT.
Where do you most want to go with Brand g?
INDIA AND THAILAND, I THINK. OR JUST MORE AND MORE OF EUROPE.
What was your most embarrassing Brand g moment so far? Photos are encouraged.
I’VE YET TO HAVE ANY EMBARRASSING MOMENTS WITH BRAND g…I’M ALWAYS PERFECTLY IN CONTROL… I’VE NEVER DONE ANYTHING WRONG. (THIS ANSWER IS TO BE READ IN THE STYLE OF MRS. PEACOCK FROM THE MOVIE CLUE!)
What would you be if you could be anything?
A POWERBALL WINNER!!!!!! – OR A WRITER/CREATOR OF BROADWAY SHOWS AND TV SHOWS.
What is your greatest extravagance?
INDOOR PLUMBING.
What is your greatest regret?
NOT SECURING INDOOR PLUMBING EARLIER IN LIFE.
What one thing would you want people to know about you?
IT REALLY IS MUCH HARDER THAN IT LOOKS!!!!!!!!!
Who you most admire in the world, besides Brand g’s incredible Director of Marketing?
BESIDES ERIC POOLE, WHO IS CURRENTLY STANDING SEVERAL FEET AWAY, IDLY FINGERING A TASER…
I ADMIRE SO MANY PEOPLE FOR SO MANY DIFFERENT REASONS, BUT GENERALLY, I SO ADMIRE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE GUTS TO CREATE SOMETHING FROM NOTHING AND THEN HAVE THE DETERMINATION TO BRING IT FORTH INTO THIS WORLD. MARTHA STEWART, SARA BLAKELY, LEWIS HOWES, MEL ROBBINS, RYAN MURPHY, AMY SHERMAN-PALLADINO, THE CAST AND CREATIVE TEAM OF THE BROADWAY SHOW TITLE OF SHOW, BOB FOSSE, AND MICHAEL BENNETT TO NAME JUST A FEW.
