Your LGBT+, all-inclusive, guaranteed full ship charter adventure begins on land with two nights in Bordeaux, the world’s largest urban World Heritage Site, cradling half the city (18 sq km) in its Unesco-listed treasure chest. From the elegant symmetry of place de la Bourse, palaces strung with stone-sculpted mascarons (faces), to tree-shaded boulevards laced with hôtels particuliers (mansions) built for 18th-century wine merchants, Bordeaux architecture is world-class.
We embark on a cruise on the Royal Loire River whose beauty is legendary. Visit Nantes and The Machines of the Isle of Nantes, a gallery that recreates the imaginary world of the famous writer Jules Verne. Discover Saint-Nazaire and admire its shipyard and the Escal’Atlantic which immerses you in the world of steamships from the beginnings of their gigantic construction to life on board. Soak up the magical castles of the Loire such as Brissac, the highest castle in France whose monumental facades rise up from its large landscaped park and so much more…
On a Brand g European river cruise, every night is opening night. Our cruises always include two featured acts who provide nightly entertainment throughout the cruise.
Although the focus of our cruises is mainly on sightseeing and socializing, we do like to mix in a bit of frivolity as well. With that in mind, we’re planning a couple of themed parties during the cruise. If you should choose to participate, great; if you’d rather just be a voyeur, that is totally fine as well.
While you can always fly into the Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport, it’s often less expensive and there are far more flight options when you fly to Paris and take the train. With regular trains from Paris to Bordeaux, you can be easily be sipping Grand Cru Classé in the blink of an eye. The TGV Paris Bordeaux route gets you between Paris Montparnasse and Gare de Bordeaux-Saint-Jean in just over 2 hours.
Whether you arrive by plane or train to Bordeaux, you’ll be met by our local transfer representative, who will whisk you away to your hotel. The balance of the day is free time to start exploring this beautiful city.
Meet your fellow guests at a welcome gathering in the early evening from 6 – 9:00pm. There will be plenty of cocktails and enough canapes that we feel pretty confident you can call it dinner. (Welcome Reception)
After your included breakfast, meet your guides for a tour of Bordeaux exploring the highlights of the city.
Bordeaux, know as “Port of the Moon” is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Stone Bridge, with its 17 arches, crosses the Garonne, offering pedestrians a lovely view over the docks and harbor. Bordeaux has been classified a “City of Art and History” and is home to one of Europe’s largest collection of 18th-Century architecture. During a walking tour our English-speaking guide will reveal its beauty and culture. The historic center of Bordeaux has everything that one would expect of a vibrant modern city, shops, services, big stores, cinemas and lots more, but it has them in the framework of an architectural ensemble of stone buildings most of which date back to well before the twentieth century.
Following our morning tour, we will proceed to the Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte for our private lunch. Famous around the world for its wonderfully elegant red wine and the sophisticated bouquet of its white wine, Smith Haut Lafitte undoubtedly deserves the special care that is lavished on it. The Château, nestled in a 78-hectare vineyard, will unveil for you its 16th century tower, its underground cellar where 1000 barrels are resting, its cooperage and its unique reception rooms.
After lunch, we continue to Saint Emilion, perched on a hilltop overlooking the vineyards, all dedicated to the wines for more than two millenniums. Historic monuments, scenic little streets, wine merchants and handicraft boutiques can be found there. The buildings of the village date back from the 9th century and are listed by the UNESCO as part of the World Heritage. Among them are several architectural treasures. We’ll first visit the village, have a snack and a glass of wine in the main street, before visiting the medieval monuments, and the underground caves of the Chateau Franc Mayne, a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé. (B/L/D)
After breakfast, enjoy the morning to explore further before checking out of the hotel. We’ll then begin our scenic journey to the city of Nantes for embarkation. Along the way, we’ll stop in the charming village of La Rochelle, where you’ll have time to grab a light lunch before we continue our journey to the M.S. Loire Princesse.
After arrival and settling into your cabins, we’ll meet the attentive crew at a welcome cocktail before dinner. The ship will sail towards Saint-Nazaire.
Tonight, enjoy the first of your Brand g signature entertainers in the ship’s lounge. (B, D)
After your first delicious breakfast join us and set off his morning for our tour in Saint Nazaire, a town on the sea.
Saint-Nazaire is best known for its shipbuilding industry, which began in the 19th century. In 1862 the port became the departure and arrival point for France’s first transatlantic crossings to South America thus, Saint-Nazaire became a canter for building ocean liners; the Queen Mary II was built here in 2003. (B, L, D)
Guided tour of Saint Nazaire
We’ll begin our visit with the Escal’Atlantic, which ingeniously retraces the history of Norman and French ocean liners through a unique experience. Then we’ll continue on to the Saint-Nazaire shipyard, one of the largest and well-renowned in Europe. Once the birthplace of the most outstanding French transatlantic liners, today it is the construction site for elegant cruise ships. While following a tour especially designed to better understand the complexity of constructing these truly modern floating palaces, you’ll discover the immensity of this site (267 acres), the stunning logistics, and the advanced technology required to build the ships.
Cruise on the Erdre River
Take a cruise on what King Francis I called the “most beautiful river in France”: The Erdre. As the scenery rolls by, discover the history of the river and its numerous châteaux.
This morning, following breakfast, join the guided tour of Nantes and the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany.
Reborn as one of France’s most dynamic and culturally progressive cities, Nantes is a city that wears its innovation on its sleeve. Populated by artists, engineers, and students, its ever-changing skyline is anchored by medieval roots and a rich maritime heritage.
Set in the historic heart of Nantes, the Château des ducs de Bretagne is the city’s most important historic building, along with the Cathedral St. Pierre. It was built in the late 15th century by François II – the last Duke of Brittany – and later by his daughter, Anne of Brittany, who was twice Queen of France. This castle is filled with six centuries of history, and a palatial residence with sophisticated façades and Renaissance-era loggias.
Back on board indulge in a delicious lunch before setting off on your choice of afternoon excursions.
The included excursion is the Muscadet Wine Route and Clisson, a charming medieval town. The Clisson valley is situated in the département of Loire-Atlantique in the heart of the Nantes vineyards. Here, the grapes for the well-known Muscadet wine are grown. The valley boasts many architectural monuments which are testimony to its splendid past and also illustrate its extraordinary history dating back to the 10th century.
The historical centre of Clisson boasts numerous sights, including the town gate, market halls, the Church of Notre Dame, the valley bridge, the Convent of Cordeliers, the St. Antoine bridge, the viaduct, the Church of the Trinity, the Garenne Valentin, the Chapel of the Templars, the Church of St. Jacques, the mills, the mediaeval fortress and the gardens of Garenne-Lemot with the gardener’s house and Villa Lemot. This 13-hectare park was created in the 19th century on the banks of the Sèvre. The pine trees, grottoes and statues in the picturesque park are also reminiscent of Italy.
OR for an additional fee you can choose to take a Helicopter ride of the Loire from above.
We’ll meet back up with the Loire Princesse in Ancenis. Once onboard relax with a cocktail, dinner and another night of Brand g signature entertainment.
(B, L, D)
Guided tour of Nantes
You’ll discover the small streets of the medieval Bouffay quarter and the beautiful Flamboyant-style Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul. We’ll visit the île Feydeau and its exceptional buildings dating back to the 18th century, and then on to the quays. After, you’ll discover the shopping districts created in the 18th century around the Théâtre Graslin and the Passage Pommeraye. We’ll continue our tour to the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany. The last castle before the river reaches the ocean, this Breton monument with its outstanding 15th to 17th century buildings will transport you back in time.
The Muscadet Region
We’ll pass through several villages that are testimony to the strong winegrowing identity in the region. We’ll travel to La Chapelle Heulin and stop at the Château Cassemichère (or similar site). This exceptional site invites you to discover its history-filled vineyards, visit its cellars and taste* the dry, light, fruity and aromatic wine. We’ll continue towards Clisson, a charming medieval city with 15th century vestiges and a slight Italian feel.
Helicopter ride: the Loire from above
(Optional in lieu of Muscadet Region $195 per person)
We’ll take you to the airport in Ancenis. Upon your arrival, you’ll meet your pilot and head out for a helicopter tour of the Loire. You’ll enjoy a bird’s-eye view of breathtaking landscapes. You’ll fly over the tower in Oudon, whose medieval architecture reaches towards the sky, dominating the city of Ancenis, then farther along the châteaux de Clermont, a Renaissance-era building in the style of Louis XIII that was also the home of French actor Louis de Funès. Next you’ll notice the Île d’Or golf course, built in a unique setting on one of the islands of the Loire. The minutes tick by and soon it’s time to return to Ancenis. On the way back, you’ll fly over Champtoceaux, without a doubt one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the Loire.
Today, we’ll cruise towards Chalonnes-sur-Loire. Join us for a tour of Brissac Castle and its cellars complete with a wine-tasting session.
Dubbed as the ‘tallest castle in France’, the Château de Brissac is said to have originally built as a castle by the Counts of Anjou during the 11 th century. During the 15 th century, the château was rebuilt as a fort-like structure by one of Charles VII’s ministers. During the French Wars of Religion, which broke out during the 16 th century, the château was made into his possession by Henry of Navarre (who would later reign as Henry IV of France). When Henry became the King of France, the château was given to Charles II of Cossé as a reward for his support. Charles was also awarded the title ‘Duke of Brissac’.
Tonight on board, enjoy another evening of socializing with your fellow Brand g guests, dinner and more fabulous Brand g entertainment.
(B,L,D)
Chateau de Brissac
We’ll leave by coach for a visit to the Château de Brissac, located about nine miles from the city of Angers.
Known as the tallest royal residence in France, it contains 204 rooms, monumental staircases and never-ending hallways. Acquired by René de Cossé in the 16th century, Château de Brissac is still owned by the Cossé-Brissac family. Its park contains some magnificent shady spots under centuries-old trees, and the castle’s spectacular decorations and the breathtaking Belle Époque theater are definitely not to be missed! At the end of our visit, we’ll discover the castle cellars and enjoy a wine tasting*. Afterwards, we’ll return to the ship.
Today, join us on a full-day excursion to discover the Castles of the Loire Valley.
With its sweeping vineyards and quaint towns, the Loire valley spans 280 kilometres (170 miles) in central France. The entire region is a UNESCO world heritage site, making it the largest one in France.
We’ll return on board in Ancenis for tonight’s farewell gala dinner and evening, while 0ur ship sails towards Nantes.
(B,L,D)
The Loire Valley Châteaux
We’ll leave by coach for the Château d’Azay-le-Rideau. Built on a small island in the middle of the Indre River, the château as it is seen today was built under Francis I by Gilles Berthelot, a wealthy financier who wanted to incorporate its medieval past alongside the latest architectural styles of the Italian renaissance. The chateau is a French national monument and possesses all the refinement found in the French Renaissance. We’ll continue to Villandry for lunch. After lunch, enjoy a walk through the lovely gardens surrounding the Château de Villandry. Spread out over an impressive area, the gardens bring together aestheticism, diversity and harmony. Afterward, we’ll continue our tour and visit the Château d’Ussé. Rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries, this stronghold with fortified towers, turrets and steeples looks like something out of a fairytale. The castle is still inhabited today and takes visitors back to a time of legends and fairytales. It is thought to have inspired Charles Perrault when writing “Sleeping Beauty”.
Enjoy one last breakfast before disembarking by 10:00 a.m. Your transfer to the train station, airport, or local hotel is included. (B,L,D)

The design of this ship is exclusive to CroisiEurope since it is the first French ship to sail on the Loire, the last “wild river” in France. Built in 2015 in Saint-Nazaire, its specificity lies in its side paddle wheels and shallow-draft. The noble burgundy and pearly colors mingle with copper elements, which give a prestigious
character to the interior decoration. A “royal” atmosphere to discover the Loire châteaux from the water. A nod to the famous “inexplosibles” that once crisscrossed the Loire: a large fireplace is located in the middle of the lounge.
The welcoming public spaces have large window areas and the cabins on the upper deck have terraces with outdoor furniture. All meals during the cruise are served in the restaurant on the main deck. Onboard fun, music and dancing happen in the lounge / bar on the upper deck, where a cozy patio also provides great landscape
views. The sun deck has deck chairs and sun loungers ideal for relaxing. In the reception area you can admire the mechanism of the paddle wheels during navigation
RESTAURANT
Located on the main deck, the restaurant is where all meals are served during your cruise. It seats all guests at tables which vary in size with a panoramic view. The atmosphere is casual but elegant.
LOUNGE BAR WITH DANCEFLOOR
The lounge tastefully decorated, is located at the front of the ship and offers panoramic views. Cocktails and games, dancing, and other forms of entertainment all happen here.
SUN DECK
Take advantage of the sun deck to relax! It is equipped with chairs and deckchairs, allowing you to cool off while enjoying a panoramic view of the magnificent landscapes.
FITNESS
Start your day by joining us for a morning fitness class on the sun deck.
